ANGEL'S FORGIVENESS
CURATED BY DASHA BYRNE & ELIAH MAAG
The performance festival Angel's Forgiveness aims to provide a platform for emerging trans artists to show their work, connect and generate visibility in the art scene. Happening during the Art Basel 2022 from the 17th to the 18th of June, the festival is intended to take up space as an alternative to institutional and commercial performance art, creating a cultural event explicitly by, with and for trans people._cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
A trans-specific performance festival in this form will take place for the first time in Basel. The aim is to promote trans visibility and give young artists a platf orm that could be relevant for their future as artists, as well as creating safe and paid job opportunities for trans artists and people.
Throughout the festival as well as the afterparty the main focus is to create a safer space for trans people. Therefore no transphobia, no racism, no body shaming, no homophobia, no sexism, no ableism, no misogyny nor any other discriminatory, disrespectful or non-consensual behaviors will be tolerated. There will be a visible awareness team on location at all time as weil as the afterparty.
We are excited for our curatorial debut and look forward to seeing lots of f family faces !
Lots of Love
